Best Toddler Educational Toys for 2015

Updated on January 1, 2015

Play and Educational Toys For Your Toddler!

Toddler Educational Toys are so important for both you and your child.

As a parent you will be aware how important play is as part of your child's development in their early years. Children really do learn through play.

Play gives them the opportunity to learn about the world around them, they learn the importance of sharing and engaging with others. They also start to develop a sense of ease and security in being on their own at times.

That is why having a good selection of toddler educational toys really is so important.

You want your child to be able to play by themselves. However, your child loves having your time and attention and of course they love playing with their parents!

It may be that you are not the creative type but that doesn't stop you from having great fun with your child. You know how much kids love painting, making shapes with play dough, playing with water and jumping around in the sand. They love to get messy and you can too as you teach your child about textures, solids and liquids.

You will both love exploring all the toddler educational toys and having very special time together which you will both love!

Introducing The Laugh and Learn Puppy - My Favorite Educational Toy For Toddlers

It has certainly been a year for new babies amongst our nieces, partners of nephews and even some of our friends. So it feels like we have been constantly looking for the perfect baby gift and even more so with Christmas coming up!

It seems like there are just so many options out there and it is so hard to know what that new baby or soon to be born child will enjoy.

However, I think we may have finally found one toy that ticks all the boxes in terms of being something that will help the new baby start learning (which is something I am really keen on); will meet with parental approval, has lots kid friendly features and overall is worth the price! That toy is the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Puppy.

What Can This Little Puppy Actually Do?

Whilst I am very keen on toys which are educational and which will start the baby learning from it's first days of play I also want to ensure that whatever we buy is fun for the new baby! So of course before we decided to buy these for several of the new arrivals we wanted to test it out!

As the name Laugh & Learn suggests, this toy is designed to provide plenty of fun features as well as educational tools. It's a soft, plush dog, which has brightly coloured paw pads and labelled body parts, it encourages baby to touch special sensors and that then activates songs and lessons, which include the ABCs, 123s, parts of the body and classic favourites like 'Itsy-Bitsy Spider'.

On top of this, this playful puppy – who is recommended for kids ages 6 to 36 months – also has a heart that lights up for that extra "awwwww" factor. Well it certainly made me go "awwwww!"

Great Educational Toy

What I really love about it is that it's a really cute, cuddly puppy that is also a truly great educational toy.

You will find that the brightly coloured pads and light offer your baby lots of visual stimulation. Baby will have lots of songs to listen to and they will really love the soft fur and buttons which are really nice to the touch.

In addition to this, the buttons are sensitive enough that a baby can easily press them without adult help which is really important if they are going to get the most from their toy. Being able to push the buttons themselves encourages their curiosity and lets them play in their own way and in their own time.

In short, if like me you are looking for a toy that can help a child with their learning and development, still provides a fun playtime and acts as a loveable playmate, I think that you will find that the Fisher-Price Laugh & Learn Puppy is a great gift choice.

This dog is a clever little teacher with all his songs and knowledge but it is his cute features, sensory stimulation and huggable/chewable nature that will really win kids over.
